# Cohesive MCP server

> A hosted MCP server that gives your agent tools for Canvases, files, Automations, and search in Cohesive.

The Cohesive MCP server puts your Workspace inside the agent you already work with. Connect it once and your agent can read a Canvas, add notes and Blocks to it, upload and publish files, schedule Automations, and search everything you have access to.

It runs at `https://mcp.cohesive.ai`. There's nothing to install and nothing to host — you point a client at the endpoint and sign in.

## What your agent can do

These are the toolsets you choose between:

[`org`](/mcp-server/tools/org) and [`notify`](/mcp-server/tools/notify) stay unmounted unless you ask for them. The [meta tools](/mcp-server/tools/meta) sit outside the model entirely: they mount on every selection, and you can't name them or turn them off. See [Toolsets](/mcp-server/connect/toolsets).

## How it acts

Every tool call runs as you. You sign in to Cohesive once and the server mints a short-lived token scoped to that session — one that deliberately can't manage credentials, so an agent connected here can work in your Workspace but can't create or revoke anything that grants access to it.
