# Notification tools

> Send yourself an in-app notification.

`notify` · 1 tool · Not in `default` — ask for it by name, or use `all`

Notifications stay out of `default` — mount them when an agent should be able to interrupt you.

Every call also carries an exit code and timing in `_meta`, and errors come back as results rather than transport failures. See [Results](/mcp-server/reference/results).

## cohesive\_notify

**Hints** — writes (no read-only or destructive hint)

Send yourself a real in-app notification. Sends a notification to your own account — it lands in the notification bell in the Cohesive app, exactly like a platform agent's notification. Use it to flag that long-running work finished, that something needs a human decision, or to leave a marker a person will actually see.

The title is the headline (keep it short); body carries the detail. If notifications are not enabled for the organization the call fails saying so rather than silently doing nothing.
