# Connect your Claude subscription

> Sign in with Claude Pro or Max and use your subscription for Claude agent turns in Cohesive.

Connect your Claude subscription through **Anthropic** in **Settings → Connectors → Model providers**.

You need access to your Claude Pro or Max account and the **Model providers** option in Cohesive.

## Connect

  <Step title="Open the Anthropic connection">
    Open **Settings → Connectors → Model providers**. Click **Connect** beside **Anthropic**, or **Replace** to change an existing connection.

  <Step title="Start subscription sign-in">
    Select **Subscription** under **Credential Type**, then click **Connect Anthropic**. The Anthropic authorization page opens in another window.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve with your Claude account">
    Sign in to the account whose subscription you want to use and approve the connection. Copy the whole code Anthropic shows after approval.

  <Step title="Paste the code into Cohesive">
    Return to the connection dialog, paste the complete code into **Paste the code**, and click **Finish connecting**. The Anthropic row shows your connected account.

  <Step title="Choose Claude for a new chat">
    Open a new chat or Canvas session. Before sending the first message, select **Claude** in the agent picker, choose a model, and check for **your subscription** beside it.

Cohesive refreshes the connection as needed. You don't need to generate a subscription token in a terminal.

## The Anthropic window didn't open

Click **Open it again** in the Cohesive dialog, then complete sign-in and bring the code back.

## The code wasn't accepted

Paste the whole code from the authorization you just started. If that authorization expired, close the dialog and start the connection again to get a fresh code.

## The connection works, but the chat uses platform credits

Connecting a subscription doesn't change an existing conversation's agent. Start a new chat and select **Claude** before its first message. The **Cohesive** option continues to use platform credits; **OpenCode** doesn't use subscription credentials.

If the Anthropic row shows **Error**, use **Replace** to sign in again. Check the funding label before continuing.

## Manage the connection

Use **Replace** to switch Claude accounts or **Disconnect** to remove the connection. Your subscription is personal to your account in the current Cohesive organization. It doesn't import Claude conversations or give teammates access to your subscription.
