# Sections

> Group related cards so you can move, collapse, and select them together.

A section groups Canvas cards under a title. Use one for a source set, workstream, or stage of a project.

## Create a section

    Select the cards you want to group.

    Choose **Wrap in section** from the right-click menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name the section">
    Give it a title that explains its purpose, such as “Customer evidence” or “Draft recommendations.”

You can also press `S` and drag a section on the Canvas, then add cards to it.

## Move and organize

Move a section by its title bar to move its contents together. Drag a card into or out of the section to change its membership.

Use the section's layout controls to arrange its contents. Collapse it when you want to reduce the visible detail, or use list view for a compact index.

The section controls also let you change its visual style.

## Use a section as context

Select the section before opening Quick Chat to include its children as context.

Try: *"Read the files in this section and create a note listing the questions we still need answered."*

## Removing a section

Use **Delete wrapper only** when you want to remove the section and leave its contents on the Canvas. Check the selection and removal action before deleting a section together with its children.

## Shared access

Sections don't create permission boundaries. Everyone who can view the Canvas can view its sections; editing requires Canvas edit access. Use a different Canvas or Workspace when the audience needs to be different.
