# Share a Canvas

> Give teammates live access to a Canvas and understand inherited Workspace access.

Click **Share** on a Canvas to give members of your organization live access to its cards, files, and documents.

A Canvas in a shared Workspace already inherits access from that Workspace. Check that membership before assuming a Canvas is private.

## Add collaborators

    Choose **Editor** or **Viewer**, then review the access list.

## Roles

| Role | What it allows |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Edit the Canvas, use the agent, manage direct sharing, and archive the Canvas. |
| **Editor** | Change Canvas content and use the agent. A directly assigned Editor can also manage direct sharing. |
| **Viewer** | Read the Canvas and open its files. Comment when comments are enabled; no content editing or agent turns. |

The creator is the Owner. You can't assign or remove the Owner role through the sharing controls.

Workspace roles also grant Canvas viewing and editing. Inherited edit access alone doesn't grant control of the Canvas's direct sharing list.

## Change or revoke access

Use the sharing controls to change a direct role or remove a recipient. If someone still has access through the Workspace or a group, change that grant at its source.

Directly shared Canvases appear under **Shared with me**. Shared Workspace content is also available through the Workspace tree.

## Conversations remain private

Collaborators see the shared surface and generated artifacts, but not each other's [sessions](/product/agent/sessions). Use [comments](/product/collaboration/comments) for a discussion everyone on the Canvas should see.
