# Slack

> Search Slack conversations and post messages through the connected account.

Connect Slack to read conversations, find decisions, and post updates through the connected Slack account.

## What the agent can do

**Read**

* Browse channels and conversations.
* Search messages and read thread replies.
* Look up people in the connected Slack workspace.

**Act**

* Send channel messages and direct messages.
* Create channels and invite people to channels.
* Add emoji reactions.
* Update supported status, channel topic, and description fields.

## Browse and drop

Browse channels, direct messages, and people in the Connectors rail, then drop relevant conversation material onto a Canvas.

## Connect

  <Step title="Find the connector">
    Open **Settings → Connectors** and choose **Slack** from the available catalog.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize">
    Click **Connect**. Authorize the Slack workspace you want to use. If an organization connection is managed by an admin, its account and permissions determine the actions available.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the connection">
    Confirm that it appears under **Connected**, then ask the agent to retrieve one item you can verify.
  </Step>

* *"Summarize this week's discussion in the product channel."*
* *"Post the reviewed summary to the project channel."*

Ask for wording in the chat first when you want to review a message before requesting the post. Confirm which Slack account and destination the action uses.
