# Turn documents into a briefing

> Build a sourced briefing from a set of documents and review it before sharing.

Use a Canvas to keep source documents, findings, and a final briefing together.

Before you begin, collect the documents and decide who will read the briefing. Check that each file is within the [upload limits](/product/limits).

  <Step title="Add the sources">
    Create a named Canvas, upload the files, and let them finish processing. Group them in a section called “Sources.”
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review each document">
    Select the source cards and press `C`.

    *"Review each document independently. Create a short note for each with its key claims, evidence, and open questions. Cite the source and mark missing information."*
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare the findings">
    Ask: *"Which claims agree, which conflict, and what evidence would resolve the conflicts? Keep proposals separate from confirmed decisions."*

    Open the cited sources and check consequential facts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write the briefing">
    Select the reviewed findings and ask: *"Create an editable two-page briefing for the project lead: situation, evidence, risks, open questions, and recommended next steps."*

  <Step title="Revise and share">
    Check the document against its sources. Revise in the same session, then [share the Canvas](/product/collaboration/sharing-canvases) for access to the context or [publish the briefing](/product/files/publishing) as a snapshot.

Use **Add to workspace** for source files and outputs that should be reused across the project. Ask explicitly to [save a Skill](/product/skills/overview) if this briefing format should be used again.
