# Skill templates

> Copy a reusable starting point or publish one for your organization.

Copy a Skill template to get a personal Skill you can adapt. Templates include built-in examples and templates published by people in your organization.

## Use a template

    Open the templates section in Skills and read a template's instructions.

    Choose **Add to my skills**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make it yours">
    Edit the copy and choose [Auto or Manual](/product/skills/managing#auto-and-manual). Try it on one task before relying on it for recurring work.

The copy belongs to your personal library. Changes to the source template don't update existing copies, and your edits don't change the template.

## Publish to your organization

Open a Skill you own and choose **Publish to organization**. Teammates can find the published template and copy it.

Publishing captures a snapshot. Publish again after improving your personal Skill if you want to update the template offered to future users.
