Connect an existing subscription in Settings → Connectors → Model providers, then choose ChatGPT or Claude before sending the first message in a new chat.

Connect ChatGPT

Sign in with the ChatGPT Plus or Pro account you already use.

Connect Claude

Sign in with your Claude Pro or Max account.
To use Cohesive from inside Claude instead, see Connect Claude in the MCP docs.
These connections pay for supported agent turns. They don’t import your ChatGPT or Claude conversations, projects, or app connections. Add the files and Connectors you want the agent to use in Cohesive.
Model providers and the agent picker appear when agent choice is enabled for your organization. If either is missing, contact your organization admin or Cohesive support.

Choose a connection

OpenCode uses API keys, so a connected subscription doesn’t fund its turns. The Cohesive agent option uses platform credits. See Choose an agent.

Connect an API key

Open Model providers

Open Settings from your account menu, select Connectors, then Model providers.

Choose the provider

Click Connect beside OpenAI or Anthropic. If a connection already exists, click Replace.

Add the key

Select API Key under Credential Type, paste a key from the provider’s console, and click Connect. Cohesive checks the key with the provider before saving it.

Start a new chat

Choose the agent and model in the composer. Check the funding label beside the model before sending.

Check which account is used

Each provider has one personal connection in the current organization. Replace changes that connection; it doesn’t add a second account for the same provider. You can connect OpenAI and Anthropic at the same time. For supported turns, Cohesive uses your active personal connection first, then an eligible organization key if one exists, then Cohesive’s key. The provider row shows the connected account or the key’s last four characters. Subscriptions are personal. Sharing a Canvas doesn’t share your subscription with its collaborators.

Usage and credits

The model menu labels usage as your subscription, connected key, or platform credits. Turns paid through your subscription or connected API key don’t also charge Cohesive model credits for those tokens. Other work, such as file processing or additional services, can still use Cohesive credits. Your provider’s allowance and limits still apply. Connecting a provider doesn’t replace your Cohesive plan or bypass its usage checks. See Usage and credits.

Replace or disconnect

Return to Model providers and choose Replace to change the account or key, or Disconnect to remove it. To reconnect a subscription, repeat its sign-in steps. If a connection is rejected or disconnected, eligible later turns fall back to an organization key or Cohesive’s key. Check the provider row and model funding label: fallback can use platform credits. Credentials are stored encrypted. Cohesive’s infrastructure provider applies them to outbound requests and can see those requests. See Model provider credentials.
