A public Canvas link shows a read-only snapshot of the Canvas without requiring a Cohesive account.

Review the Canvas

Check the cards and files you intend to expose. Use a separate Canvas if the working surface includes material that shouldn’t be public.

Open link access

Click Share and find Link access.

Enable the link

Turn on Anyone with the link, wait for the snapshot to finish, and click Copy link.
Publishing requires edit access to the Canvas.

What readers receive

Readers see the published Canvas and its included content. They can navigate the snapshot and open supported files. Private chat sessions aren’t included. Public readers can’t edit the source Canvas, direct its agent, or join its live comments and presence. Supported HTML block controls can still work locally in the published view.

Update or disable

Use Update in the link access controls to publish a fresh snapshot to the same link. Working edits stay private until you update. Disable link sharing to stop serving the public snapshot. This doesn’t remove the working Canvas or copies readers already made.

Add a copy to a Workspace

Where Add to my workspace is available, a signed-in reader can copy the published Canvas into their own Workspace. The copy is independent: later updates to the public source don’t update it.
Anyone with the public link can read the published content. For controlled, live collaboration, share the Canvas with members.
