The agent uses the context and tools available to the conversation to research, create artifacts, and make changes you request.

Read and research

Ask questions about files, compare source documents, search relevant content, or research a topic on the web. Make the scope explicit: selected files, a Canvas, a Workspace, or a connected app. Uploaded formats differ in extraction support. Check source references, especially for numbers, dates, quotations, and conclusions.

Create documents and visuals

The agent can write documents, create structured notes, generate images, and build HTML blocks. Specify the format and audience: “Write a one-page decision brief for the project lead, with the evidence and unresolved questions.”

Edit and organize the Canvas

The agent can add and arrange cards, edit notes and labels, work with shapes and connecting lines, and group content into sections. Try: “Put the source files in one section and the reviewed outputs in another. Label each section.” The agent can also read comments to understand feedback when you ask it to.

Work in connected apps

Use Connectors to retrieve emails, events, tasks, and CRM records, or request supported updates. Each connector has a bounded action set; connecting an app doesn’t grant every feature that app offers. Review the destination and content of proposed changes. See Agent permissions.

Process independent tasks

A batch of document summaries, company profiles, or record reviews can be split into parallel tasks. Ask for a consistent output and a final comparison where useful.

Save instructions and schedule work

Ask the agent to save a repeatable instruction as a Skill. For recurring work, create an Automation with a location, instructions, and schedule.

Understand the boundaries

Access depends on Cohesive permissions, available connections, the selected agent, and provider availability. An organization connection may use a shared account’s permissions. A connected model subscription doesn’t add app connections or import another product’s chat history.
